Lifting weights to get stronger, grow muscle, enhance athletics, lose weight, etc. has been around for quite some time now. In that time many, many techniques and tricks have been lauded as being the "best" when it comes to using resistance training to enhance our bodies
I was a fan of "split routines" for many years. Mostly because that is what all the muscle mags were telling us and that was what everyone else was doing. Why must we always follow the crowd. Of course if the crowd is a 250 pound, ripped body builder he couldn't be wrong...could he?
However, I had a sneaking suspicion that there was a better or at least a more time efficient way to get the benefits or working out with weights that the meat heads had failed to mention. Mainly because they must think that we all, like them, have nothing better to do with our time than pump iron in a stinky gym. They were not surfers, of course.
Here is an article about total body workouts. I have been using this technique for awhile now mainly because of the time issue and I like to do a lot of cardio on my "off" days. Also I understand that after working out itself, rest is the key to getting the most out of hard workouts. Plus who really wants to be in a stinky gym 5 days a week?
